Junior/Intermediate Web Developer


The Position


We're looking for an additional developer to expand our software development team.

Our projects range from simple brochure websites to complex applications, therefore work can be filtered to suit a junior, or a more intermediate developer.

As part of a small web development team you can expect lots of variety, ranging from new project builds, through website updates for existing clients, to involvement in big, longer-term projects.

The Ideal Candidate will...

  • Be happy working as part of a small team.
  • Be able to contribute to both frontend and backend development.
  • Have a bit of creative flair.
  • Communicate effectively (in person, over the phone and via email) with colleagues and clients. As such good English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Have some experience in web development and express a desire to learn more.
Working Hours:
Mon – Fri, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Employment Type:
Full-Time / Permanent / Office Based
Salary:
Anticipate a salary between £19K and £30K dependent upon experience, although this is fully negotiable for the right candidate as our top priority is finding a good fit.
Location:
This is an office-based position so you must be able to commute to our Pangbourne office. We’re a short walk from the train station so your own vehicle isn't essential but would be beneficial. Free parking is available on-site.

Technical Requirements


  • Essential Skills

    At minimum, you should have :

  • A good working knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • A basic grasp of at least one programming language
  • Advantageous Skills

    Experience with any of the following will be beneficial but none are essential if you're willing to work with the team, learning new skills:

  • A CSS framework e.g. Bootstrap or Foundation
  • PHP
  • Relational databases e.g. MySQL
  • PDO
  • Object Orientated Programming (OOP)
  • Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.)
  • WordPress or similar CMS
  • A PHP framework such as Laravel or Symfony
  • Version Control (Git)
